Who we are

Intski.com is an independent guide to ski resorts worldwide. Contact: info@intski.com.

What data we collect

Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and display name. Sign-in works via a magic link sent to your email, or via Google or Facebook login. If you use social login, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from the provider — nothing more. We never see or store your social media password.

Newsletter and snow alerts. If you sign up for email updates, we store your email address, which emails you chose (snow alerts, season updates or both), the resorts you follow, where on the site you signed up, and the date and IP address of your sign-up and confirmation as proof of consent. Without an account you must confirm your address through a link we email you; unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 14 days. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to change your settings. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so that we never email you again by mistake, unless you ask us to delete it completely.

Comments and content. If you leave a comment, we store the comment text, your name and email.

Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting. These are automatically rotated.

Page popularity. We count how many times each resort page is opened, so that the “Trending” list on the home page reflects what visitors actually read. We store only a number per resort. These counts are not linked to your account, your name or your IP address, and they are not used for profiling or advertising.

Cookies

We use cookies for signed-in sessions (so you stay logged in) and basic site functionality. Visitor statistics cookies are only set if you agree to them in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choice. Until you click Accept, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. We ask again after 180 days.

The cookies we set are:

  • Session cookies (set by WordPress when you sign in) keep you logged in and protect forms against misuse. They expire when you sign out, or after a couple of weeks.
  • intski_consent remembers whether you accepted or rejected statistics cookies, for 180 days, so we do not ask on every page.
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), only with your consent, counts visits and shows which pages and traffic sources are used, so we know what to improve. These cookies are set by Google and last up to two years. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or share it with advertising networks.
  • intski_recent stores the IDs of the resort pages you have opened, for six hours. It exists so that reloading the same page is not counted twice in our popularity numbers. It contains no name, email address or advertising identifier, and it is never shared with anyone.

You can delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings. The site keeps working without them; only the popularity counting becomes less accurate.

How we use your data

To operate your account, to send the emails you asked for, to respond when you contact us, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

Third-party services

Google and Facebook process your data according to their own privacy policies when you use their login buttons. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, your profile picture is loaded from their servers. Visitor statistics are processed by Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd), only after you consent. Emails are sent from our own hosting at Zone Media OÜ in Estonia, not through an email marketing company. Snow forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway); we only send them a resort’s coordinates and elevation, never anything about you. Country flag images are served from flagcdn.com. Resort photography is sourced from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, with attribution shown on each photo.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — email info@intski.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We may update this policy as the site evolves; the latest version always lives on this page.
