Sun Peaks Resort lies 56.6 km north-east of Kamloops in British Columbia, and its name is more than branding. Wikipedia records an average of over 2,000 hours of sunshine a year alongside an average snowfall of 5.6 m, and that pairing of bright days and a deep base is what gives the resort its character. It is a place where a powder morning and a clear-sky afternoon are not mutually exclusive.

Three mountains, plus one

The skiing is spread across three mountains and a smaller fourth: Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, Mt. Morrisey and Orient. Together they give Sun Peaks 16 square kilometres of skiable terrain, which Wikipedia ranks as the second largest in Canada, and our data records 137 km of runs served by 13 lifts. That is a modest lift count for so much ground, and it tells you the runs are long and the terrain broad rather than densely laced with short chairs.
