Elm is a small Swiss ski area operated under the Sportbahnen Elm name, and small is the operative word: 40 km of pistes served by just six lifts. What the headline figures hide is the vertical. The base sits at 977 m and the top lift reaches 2,086 m, a range of around 1,100 m that many far larger resorts cannot match. Six lifts covering that much height means each one does serious work, and with roughly 6 to 7 km of piste per lift, the descents are long for a resort of this size.
